Austin Mahr

Austin Mahr is majoring in Biological Sciences in the Honors Tutorial College. Afterwards, he plans to attend the 91探花 Heritage College of Medicine to pursue his dreams in the field of medicine. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, playing with my dogs, and reading.

 

Noah Powell

Noah Powell

Noah Powell is a senior from Santa Clarita, California, studying cellular/ molecular biology. He is involved in biomedical research within the Diabetes Institute, where they investigate various aspects of adipose (fat) tissue. He also serves as an executive board member for the College of Arts and Sciences Student Ambassadors and as an RA in Adams Hall. Both of his parents and older sister attended 91探花, which has strongly influenced his love for the university and the Athens community.

 

Cole Daniel Behrens

Cole Daniel Behrens

Cole Daniel Behrens is a senior studying journalism in the E.W. Scripps College of Communications. He also intends to achieve a specialization in classical history and romantic linguistics, as well as a minor in Spanish. He is passionate about Ohio and public affairs journalism. Professionally, Cole has completed internships with The Athens NEWS, The Columbus Dispatch, and The Cincinnati Enquirer. In 2020, Cole was awarded the White House Correspondents Association Scholarship. In his free time, Cole enjoys baseball, studying classical history, and bicycling.

Jaden Kenner

Jaden Kenner

Jaden Kenner is a first-year student from Brecksville, Ohio. She is majoring in Pre-Early Childhood Education. Class secretary of her high school鈥檚 Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society, Jaden was also active in Key Club and the St. Basil Life Teen. She was a member of the cross country team and flagline, earning varsity letters in both. Jaden follows in her mother鈥檚 and father鈥檚 footsteps as a student at OHIO.

Kelsey Rader

Kelsey Rader

Kelsey Rader is a sophomore from Hilliard, Ohio, studying chemical engineering in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology. During her first year at OHIO, she joined the American Institute of Chemical Engineers to further invest in her studies and form connections with fellow Bobcats. Outside of the classroom, Kelsey is a CPR-certified lifeguard. She has fond memories of Saturday morning Bobcat football tailgates with her parents who are OHIO alumni and is proud to continue their legacy.

Sean Hollowell

Sean Hollowell

Sean Hollowell of Hilliard, Ohio, is a junior, double majoring in environmental studies and geography in the Honors Tutorial College. At OHIO, Sean is continuing his passion for singing as a member of the Singing Men of Ohio and its Section Eight a capella group. He was selected as a research scholar for the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service鈥檚 GIS Team and served on Hall Council. Sean joins his parents and sister as proud Bobcats.

Hannah Graber

Hannah Graber is a senior from Hilliard, Ohio, studying communications in the Honors Tutorial College. She is involved in Student Alumni Board and Student Senate and mentored middle school students as part of OHIO鈥檚 Women鈥檚 Mentorship Program. Hannah has also invested in the broader community, serving as a project manager during Athens Beautification Day. Hannah鈥檚 parents and her aunt are Bobcat alumni, creating a unique family bond that she says makes OHIO feel even more like home.

Grace Counts, 2018 Legacy Scholarship Recipient

Grace Counts

Grace Counts is a freshman from Clayton, Ohio, studying chemistry with a focus on pre-medicine. Valedictorian of her high school class, Grace was active member of DECA, a national college- and career-preparation organization for aspiring young leaders. A Nation Merit Commended student, she was a member of the Northmont Honors Society and received the Scholar Athlete Award. She follows her parents and older sister as she embarks on her 91探花 experience.

Caroline Saracina, 2018 Legacy Scholarship recipient

Caroline Saracina

Caroline Saracina is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Lakewood, Ohio, native is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity. Outside of her academics, which earned her a spot on the Dean鈥檚 List, she has participated in student-run fundraising events such as Bobcathon, the 12-hour dance marathon. She credits her Bobcat mother for encouraging her to attend OHIO and looks forward to creating memories they can share.

Molly Carrier, 2018 Legacy Scholarship recipient

Molly Carrier

Molly Carrier is a junior from Hilliard, Ohio, studying translational health exercise physiology in the Honors Tutorial College. She鈥檚 a member of Gamma Phi Beta, the College Republicans, and Phi Delta Epsilon, the pre-medical fraternity. She鈥檚 has consistently earned a spot on the Dean鈥檚 List and maintained involvement in Alpha Lambda Delta honors fraternity and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Molly follows in her mother鈥檚 and father鈥檚 footsteps with each trek across College Green.

Josie Waugh, 2018 Legacy Scholarship recipient

Josie Waugh

Josie Waugh is a senior from New Philadelphia, Ohio, studying music therapy and psychology. She has held leadership positions in groups such as the American Music Therapy Association of Students, the 91探花 Singers, and the ATCO Bell Choir. She is one of six Bobcats in her family, and she looks forward to the day when she will graduate and continue her family鈥檚 OHIO legacy.

2017-2018 Recipients

Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson is a freshman from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, studying sports management and business analytics. He graduated valedictorian from his high school and was a section leader in marching, concert, and pep bands. He also participated in the Ohio Music Education Association solo and ensemble contest and served as the junior crew leader for the Central Ohio Work Camp. Both of Caleb鈥檚 parents attended OHIO, as did his aunt. He is eager to continue his family鈥檚 legacy at 91探花.

Sydney Wolff

Sydney Wolff is a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, studying management information systems. She is a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, vice president of public relations for Toastmasters International, a class representative for the College of Business Honors Program, and is involved with both the Global Consulting Program and the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre, which recognized her as the top recruiter. Her father attended OHIO, and she is excited to be following in his footsteps.

Taylor Woodford

Taylor Woodford is a junior from Hilliard, Ohio. Taylor is majoring in marketing and business analytics with a minor in Spanish. She serves as president of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and is an account manager in the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre. Taylor is also active in the Select Leadership Development Program and works as a teaching assistant for the Honors Tutorial College. Taylor鈥檚 father and uncle both attended OHIO, and she has grown up as part of the Bobcat family.

Aaron Pike

Aaron Pike is a senior from Mount Vernon, Ohio, studying civil engineering. He serves as president of the campus group Ratio Christi; on the Steel Bridge Design Team for the American Society of Civil Engineers; and as secretary and design team leader for Global Engineering Projects, a student organization that helps disadvantaged communities through sustainable engineering. Both of Aaron鈥檚 parents and his older sister attended OHIO.

Maia Hamilton

Maia Hamilton

Maia Hamilton is a freshman this fall at 91探花, majoring in Media Arts and Studies through the Honors Tutorial College. Maia plans to have a focus in the field of animation and eventually work in an animation studio. She has lived in Alabama for 15 years, but the family has never lost the Bobcat spirit. She hopes to have the same enriching college experience that her parents had before her. In her free time, Maia enjoys drawing, writing, attending church, and spending time with friends and family. 

Micaela Slye

Micaela Slye

Micaela Slye is a junior studying photojournalism and Spanish at 91探花. She has had many family members attend this OHIO and is honored to be a recipient of the Legacy Scholarship. She is currently making plans to travel to different countries around the world as a documentarian and missionary. She says it is her heart and passion to tell the stories of those who have been forgotten about in a way that they couldn鈥檛 tell them themselves, as well as to help them physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Kaitlynn Stone

Kaitlynn Stone is in her third year at 91探花. Her grandfather graduated from 91探花 Lancaster in 1979, and her aunt and uncle are also alumni. She attends the Athens campus with her cousin. Kaitlynn is a commercial photography student who is dedicated to her studies and very involved on campus. At OHIO, she is vice president of communications on the Student Alumni Board, president of the Society of Photographic Illustrators, and a photographer and designer for Thread magazine.

Angelina Moore

Angelina Moore is a senior studying Business Pre-Law. She hails from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and is a second-generation Bobcat. Angelina is excited to have had her younger sister join her in Athens as a freshman this fall. At 91探花, she is a member of the Select Leaders Development Program, Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, and OHIO Women in Business. Angelina appreciates 91探花 Alumni Association's commitment to the Bobcat legacy, and sincerely thanks them for this scholarship.
