Civil Engineering Graduate Programs

Graduate-level study in civil and environmental engineering prepares you to explore more closely the challenges of building infrastructure and systems for the future. Sustainability, environmental responsibility, and resource management are of critical importance to today鈥檚 civil and environmental engineers, and at the Russ College these concepts are integrated into both our M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in civil engineering, with an emphasis on environmental engineering. Our online master's degree in civil engineering meets the needs of working engineers who want to advance their technical expertise in a completely online environment.

You鈥檒l benefit from in-depth research opportunities with our prestigious research centers, like the Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment that advised state and national agencies on the construction of the U.S. 33 Bypass through Hocking County. The project featured environmental accommodations for wildlife and runoff as well as state-of-the-art sensor systems for roadway maintenance and failure prediction.

Graduate Funding Sources

The Russ College is committed to connecting our graduate students to appropriate funding sources. Like at most universities, as a potential grad student you'll be screened for funding opportunities by your department or research group when you apply for admission or in your correspondence with research faculty before application. The majority of our students find funding within their first year on campus.

More funding sources are available through the Graduate College, including fellowships, grants and other programs. For a complete listing of opportunities and associated deadlines, visit the Financial Aid area of the Graduate College.
