Expert Bio
Dr. Ridpath is beginning his second decade as a tenured faculty member with 91探花 and its prestigious Sports Administration program. Prior to OHIO, he was an assistant professor of sport administration at Mississippi State University and has over 15 years of practical experience in intercollegiate athletics in administrative and coaching capacities at Marshall University, Weber State University and 91探花. Ridpath is an expert on the NCAA and intercollegiate athletic matters due to his research and practical experience in the industry. He examines issues including student athlete academic achievement, academic fraud, graduation rates and the like. He has appeared before Congressional committees and served as an expert witness in numerous cases involving intercollegiate athletics and college athlete rights.
Ridpath, a Fulbright Scholar, has over 30 peer reviewed articles and a dozen academic book chapters to his credit. He has also written two books, Tainted Glory: Marshall University, The NCAA and One Man鈥檚 Fight for Justice and Alternative Models for Sport Development in America: Solutions for a Crisis in Education and Public Health.
