Expert Bio

Stevenson, MA, CHIE, CHIA, FSM., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction/Coordinator of Food and Beverage in the Department of Human and Consumer Sciences at 91探花 in The Gladys W. & David H. Patton College of Education. He is also the Deans Fellow 2021-2022 for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Stevenson recently completed a graduate certificate in Educational Policy at 91探花 and presented information in reference to the National School Lunch program to elected leadership in Washington DC. He is currently working on his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Antioch in Leadership and Change.

He is a Certified Hospitality Educator, and is certified in Hotel Industry Analytics, Customer Service, Food Service Management, Inclusive Teaching Practices, and Mental Health First Aid. His area of focus revolves around creating sustainable practices in the areas of foodways. In addition, using foodways knowledge to create inclusive work and job force training and opportunities for those who 鈥渟it in the margins鈥. He is a 30-year practitioner in the hospitality industry. He believes that food ways programming is a powerful way to build resiliency and self-efficacy one tasty bite at a time.
