Your Guide to the Fall 2022 Film Events Sponsored in Part by OHIO University Libraries
is underway. First up starting September 7, 鈥溾, an exploration of the world-changing activism and potential of the largest youth generation in history. I'm excited to be working more closely with our sponsors this fall. The Revolution will include a post-show discussion led by Mary Nally, Director, Center for Campus and Community Engagement (CCCE). The center is especially focused on Media Literacy, Civic Engagement, Voting 鈥 this film speaks to all these issues. Note: University Libraries have the of this film, it鈥檚 worth watching.
On September 21st, we are very excited to bring , a community-based organization, and Office of Sustainability as guest panelists for the screening of 鈥溾. The film is a expos茅 revealing the truth behind plastic pollution and the truth about recycling.
October 5, , this year we will work with our Honors College sponsors, specifically with Dr. Myrna Sheldon, Cutler Scholars on a student led panel about Food and Community.
Lastly, on October 19, we are screening . is a short film about the Eastern Hellbender aka salamander. Dr. Viorel Popescu, Biology, will lead the panel along with director, Justin Grubb. was directed by Megan Westervelt, Barbara Geralds Institute for Storytelling, who has spent many years working in Ecuador with the Yasuni.
New this year is film series. Tiffany Arnold, program chair for 2023 Appalachian Studies Association Conference, has organized a series of films to compliment the conference, which will be in Athens in 2023. University libraries as well as others are sponsoring the series. September 8, with Prof. Rachel Terman, Sociology and Anthropology; October 13, with Dr. Tiffany Arnold, CHSP; November 10, with Prof. Nerissa Young. AND MORE!
