Alleviate stress and prepare for finals week with University Libraries
University Libraries鈥 Finals by Alden is back once more as the fall semester slowly draws to a close. Events such as therapy dog visits, finals survival kits and a Long Night Against Procrastination are just a few of the many activities occurring during the last week of classes and finals week itself in both Alden Library and the Music & Dance Library in Glidden Hall. All programs will be free of charge as well.
While fan-favorite activities will be occurring as usual like button making and therapy dog visits from Dug and Penny, the Libraries will also be having programs such as the 鈥淟ong Night Against Procrastination.鈥 In collaboration with the Academic Achievement Center, the event will be making its return after a hiatus due to the pandemic. It will take place on the third floor of Alden Library in the CoLab and will feature drop-in writing help, academic coaching, tutoring, coffee and snacks.
Another pre-pandemic activity is also back with 4H Pet Pal Visits. The 4H therapy animals such as cats, dogs and rabbits will be visiting Alden Library for another destress event. Classic finals week survival kits will also be offered with everything a student will need for a little study break and a break to relax. Items such as snacks, coloring pages, pencils, fidget toys and information about resources from Counseling and Psychological Services will be included.
Jen Harvey, the Library events coordinator, hopes that the events will help students learn more about the Libraries and its resources, but also help them unwind and feel ready for finals.
鈥淚 would love for students to feel a little less stress after one of our programs and feel like they are better prepared for finals,鈥 Harvey said.
