“Getting to Know University Libraries” Workshop for International Students
91Ě˝»¨ Libraries will be hosting an introduction and orientation for international students on Friday, September 13 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Alden Library room 319. This year’s “Getting to know your University Libraries” workshop will give newly arrived international students the opportunity to learn about the Libraries’ resources, services and spaces.
Because libraries differ from all over the world, this workshop will help students learn how the 91Ě˝»¨ academic library system works and to aid in academic success.
Some of the questions addressed will be: Where can I find books and videos? How do I reserve a study space in the Libraries? How do I find a specific journal article? And How do I request materials from other libraries?
Those are just a few of the topics that will be covered. The Libraries also offers specialized workshops online at University Libraries’ website.
For more information on the workshop, contact Araba Dawson-Andoh, subject librarian for African studies and the social sciences, or Jeff Shane, subject librarian for Southeast Asia.
