Stabilization package approved to protect Ridges buildings
A request for funding to help stabilize and protect several buildings at The Ridges at 91探花 has received approval from the Capital Funding & Priorities Committee (CF&PC).
The Ridges Master Plan Committee, in response to feedback from The Ridges Advisory Committee as well as the University desire to protect the Ridges facilities while the planning and funding development is occurring, requested the Existing Buildings subcommittee and consultant Schooley Caldwell Associates (SCA) develop stabilization recommendations.
The recommendation received, and subsequently shared and approved by the CF&PC, was for two projects: one for masonry, window and door repairs and the other for roof and waterproofing work. The two projects together amount to approximately $300,000 and include work on the Kirkbride plan buildings. Each of the buildings has issues of varying degrees, but the overall work will include patching to roofs, gutters and soffits, window blocking, and foundation repair.
Work is scheduled to begin in the fall and is expected to be completed by spring.
