Love Your Body health fair, educational event planned for Southern Campus

IRONTON, Ohio – Since 2011, the Love Your Body health fair and educational event has been hosted each February at the Southern Campus to encourage participants to consider their self-care and well-being. Open to the public, this year’s event will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Mains Rotunda of the Riffe building.

According to Mary Ann Wymer, coordinator of non-traditional student recruitment and services, “Love Your Body provides a fun and informative way for our students to stop and consider the importance of their health – physical, emotional and mental well-being and the well-being of their spirit.”

“Health and wellness are essential to everyone’s life and for a healthy community. It is hard to meet daily demands without energy and an active mind,” Wymer said.

Wymer, the event organizer, feels that this is a great opportunity for students to with community members who represent a variety of services and organizations. “It allows the service providers to obtain information about the concerns and needs of Southern Campus students,” Wymer said. “It can really help these agencies understand the needs of the community.”
