Class of 2018 anticipates graduation and celebrates Senior Week

Senior Week kicks off on Monday, April 23, to celebrate graduating seniors’ final days in Athens. As these students transition into successful alumni, they can reminisce about the past four years’ accomplishments and soak up everything Athens has to offer.

Seniors can stop by the Senior Week Open House at Konneker Alumni Center between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to stock up on Senior Week gear. In exchange for a canned food item for the 91̽»¨ Food Pantry, seniors will receive a T-shirt and be entered to win fun prizes!

Also throughout the week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., seniors can speak with a qualified career coach for a 10-minute drop-in session at the Career and Leadership Development Center. Chat about a variety of topics, including resume critiques and interview tips.

For a lively study break, University Program Council invites all OHIO students to attend Zoo to yOU. Stop by South Beach from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, for a free petting zoo and camel ride experience.

Dinner with 12 Strangers allows seniors to connect with the OHIO community one last time before graduation. Sponsored by the OHIO Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Board, this event connects students, alumni and faculty. Come to dinner with 12 strangers and leave with 11 new friends!

Seniors can choose to , AB ’95, MED ’97, PHD ’11, at Thai Paradise or at Restaurant Salaam, both on Monday, April 23.

Nostalgic seniors can take an to learn about Athens’ history or a Behind the Bricks Tour to get a behind-the-scenes tour of campus, which includes an inside look at hidden gems like the Convocation Center, Peden Stadium, the cherry blossoms and more.

Saying goodbye to Athens is never easy, but the Senior Farewell event in Baker Ballroom allows seniors to gather with classmates one final time on Thursday evening. OHIO faculty and staff will be present to give speeches and a final champagne toast to the class of 2018.

Graduating seniors can end the week with a full stomach at the second-annual Food Truck Friday. From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., seniors can visit the Konneker Alumni Center parking lot to cash in meal tickets at Athens’ favorite food trucks and register with the Alumni Association.
