Graduate Student Senate observing Graduate Professional Student Appreciation Week

91探花鈥檚 Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is celebrating Graduate Professional Student Appreciation Week April 9-13. 

The week kicked off with a 鈥淢eet the GSS Candidates鈥 event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, in Baker University Center 356, followed by a discussion on graduate student mental health from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Baker University Center 231.

Other events, which are open to graduate students from all OHIO units, include:

Wednesday, April 11

Doughnuts with Dean Shields from 10 a.m. to noon in Research and Technology Center (RTEC) 102 鈥 OHIO鈥檚 vice president for research and creative activity and dean of the Graduate College will discuss what鈥檚 new at 91探花 for graduate students.

Cheers and Queers beginning at 5 p.m. at the Cider House on West Washington Street 鈥 delfin bautista, director of OHIO鈥檚 LGBT Center, will lead a discussion on micro aggression. Food will be provided.

Thursday, April 12

Student Research and Creative Activity Expo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Convocation Center 鈥 Graduate students participating in the expo will receive buttons.

Uni-Tea from 4 to 5 p.m. in the third-floor lobby of McCracken Hall 鈥 This event is being hosted by the Patton College of Education

The week鈥檚 events will culminate at 5 p.m. Friday, April 13, in the Walter Hall Rotunda with a celebration recognizing OHIO graduate student achievements. The celebration will recognize graduate students who have earned awards over the past academic year, including the Travel Award, Original Work Grant, Student Enhancement Award, Graduate College Named Fellowship, Senator Emeritus Award, and 3-Minute Thesis. All Student Research and Creative Activity Expo participants as well as the winner of the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award will be honored.
