Monday, June 10, 9 - 11 p.m. 91̽ Observatory on The Ridges
Telescope nights are hosted by the 91̽ Astronomy faculty and students. Visitors may see lunar craters, Saturn's rings, Jupiter, Mars, star clusters, or distant galaxies, depending on the time of year and sky conditions. They are held at the 91̽ Observatory located at The Ridges on the Athens campus and are free and open to the public.

Come join some of the world’s leading researchers for sessions related to Growth Hormone and Lipolysis, Growth Hormone Therapy, Growth Hormone Influences on Target Tissue, and Growth Hormone and Acromegaly. The 3rd International Symposium on Growth Hormone and Metabolism will be followed by The John J. Kopchick Distinguished Lecture, featuring A.J. van der Lely, M.D., Ph.D., Chief and Professor of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine, Section of Endocrinology, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and his lecture entitled, “Are you addicted to sugar?”

The year’s fourth installment of a local reading series, Spoken & Heard: Poetry of Departure and Relevance, takes place on June 13 at The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens. The reading will feature New York Times best-selling poet, essayist, and cultural critic, Hanif Abdurraqib and Cleveland’s premier beat poet, John Burroughs. Opening for Abdurraqib and Burroughs is Athens poet Kristine Williams. The Spoken and Heard series is curated by Athens Poet Laureate Kari Gunter-Seymour. Doors open 5:30 p.m. All events begin at 6 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. A cash bar will be available.
