Reimagining OHIO's General Education Poster Event is Oct. 9
As part of its efforts to realize general education reform, 91探花 will host the Reimagining OHIO鈥檚 General Education poster event from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the 1804 Lounge and Atrium on the Baker University Center fifth floor.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to provide feedback about possible revisions to OHIO鈥檚 general education program. Posters will highlight different options for revising the general education program and a timeline for realizing a revised general education program. Representatives from the Reimagining General Education Leadership Team will be available to answer questions and receive feedback.
91探花 implemented its General Education program 40 years ago in the effort to help students gain the skills to effectively participate in society.
鈥淕eneral education should provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that help them to develop their potential to contribute to the public good. We are committed to building a general education program that enables students to achieve these goals,鈥 said Dr. Katie Hartman, one of the event organizers and Chair of the University Curriculum Council鈥檚 General Education Committee. "This event is designed for faculty, staff, and students to learn about the motivations and principles for reimagining general education and to offer feedback about the revisions to OHIO鈥檚 general education program we are proposing for consideration,鈥
The event is free and open to all OHIO faculty, staff, and students. Attendees may stop by at any time during the event for open discussion. Registration is not required.
