GoBus issues travel alert

The GoBus ticketing platform is experiencing extensive issues, so passengers are currently unable to purchase tickets ahead of time online and over-the-phone.

Go Bus is a popular transit service for 91探花 Athens campus students. With Spring Semester 2020 beginning Monday, Jan. 13, the Athens campus will experience large groups of students returning to campus on the GoBus over the next several days.

GoBus drivers are accepting cash for seats until the issues are resolved. Passengers will only pay the base fare, which is $5 less than the typical cash-with-the-driver fare, during this time period. Despite the ticket purchasing issues, the GoBus routes are still running as usual.

鈥淎nyone using GoBus to return to campus should arrive in advance for scheduled bus routes to assist with transit availability,鈥 said Tia Hysell, director of OHIO Transportation and Parking Services. 鈥淕oBus customers should regularly check the GoBus Travel Alert Page for updates or reach out to GoBus staff directly with any questions or concerns prior to their travel date.鈥

GoBus also acknowledged that some passengers who purchased tickets before the ticketing system malfunction are having trouble printing the tickets. These passengers are encouraged to show the driver their digital ticket on a phone or tablet as they board the bus. Drivers have been informed that these tickets may look different than usual.

Please call 888-954-6287 with any additional questions and leave a voicemail if necessary. A GoBus representative will respond as soon as possible.
