First spring Sustainable Administration Hub Seminar is Feb. 27
Dr. Ryan Fogt, the OHIO Sustainable Administration Hub Coordinator, will kick off the spring Sustainability Hub Seminar Series at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 in the Baker University Center Front Room. This other spring Seminar Series meetings will be held at 5 p.m. March 26 and April 23 in the same location.
Fogt has partnered with Cat Russell of University Human Resources and Dr. Jan Huebenthal, assistant director of the LGBT Center within the Division of Diversity and Inclusion, to present a panel on sustainability initiatives in OHIO human resources, a theme of the Administration Hub.
Russell and Huebenthal鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淐reating a Sustainable Workplace: Fostering Belonging at OHIO,鈥 will address the building of sustainable work cultures for staff and faculty. They will discuss research that indicates that a strong sense of belonging is a key predictor of success, well-being, and retention, and that people who feel that they belong happily outperform their peers and make excellent co-workers.
What is OHIO doing to create work cultures that support belonging and nurture sustainable, healthy campus communities? What are our strategies to work towards such cultures? Panelists will explore these and other questions and speak to their initiatives, projects, and efforts across campus, specifically those led by Diversity and Inclusion and Human Resources.
As one of three faculty coordinators working with OHIO鈥檚 Office of Sustainability, Fogt鈥檚 Hub focuses on sustainability initiatives connected to the themes of Climate, Procurement, Human Resources and Investments.
In 2019, Fogt created the Climate and Sustainability Ambassadors Program (CSAP) which provides opportunities for students to collaborate with others passionate about sustainability and climate literacy, to partner with local schools to further climate change education, and to help OHIO reach goals in the 91探花 Sustainability and Climate Action Plans.
Students can find more information about CSAP and apply for the program here.
The first 10 attendees to ask a question will receive free coffee.
