International Education Week celebration is Nov. 16-20
International Education Week (IEW) at 91̽, hosted this year through virtual formats, will celebrate “Global Interconnectedness” and promote and recognize how members of the 91̽ community have maintained and strengthened global and international engagement amidst the impacts of COVID-19.
In years past, the IEW Global Engagement Awards Ceremony celebrated faculty, staff, alumni, and community members in recognition of the outstanding contributions to international education, global competency, cultural understanding, and/or international programs at 91̽ or in their fields or disciplines. In the revised virtual format of IEW 2020, the University community can explore and celebrate through the following online platforms and events.
Video Storytelling shares stories of global engagement and interconnectedness, which can be viewed on the IEW website. These short videos, provided by students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members, tell individuals’ perspectives and experiences in their own areas of global research, learning, teaching, and engagement. The 91̽ community is encouraged to explore and enjoy these stories on the program website. (/iew/video-storytelling).
Additional storytelling is welcomed and encouraged through social media submission, using #OHIOIEW2020 to connect to the Tagboard on , which features all community-submitted posts using the hashtag.
Students have an opportunity to be entered to win a $20 gift card for global engagement storytelling submissions throughout the IEW week, either by video submission or through social media.
Kudos spotlight the faculty, staff (classified and administrative), students, alumni and community members who are passionate about international education and are committed to supporting, building, and sustaining connections that advance international engagement. The Kudos are being collected and shared to the IEW website to celebrate and champion the impactful ways the OHIO community has thrived and creatively connected and supported our campus and global communities, despite the myriad of shifts in worldwide circumstances and new modalities of delivery.
Explore these Kudos (/iew/kudos) and feel free to to those you would like to celebrate; additional submissions are welcome and will be uploaded through the week.
