Starting fall 2021, most West Virginia residents will qualify for in-state tuition for courses taken on 91探花 campuses. 

鈥淭his state reciprocity agreement is wonderful news for 91探花 and prospective students in our region,鈥� 91探花 President Hugh Sherman said. 鈥淲hile this partnership will certainly help expand enrollment at OHIO, more importantly it will help meet the region鈥檚 workforce needs and bring additional financial resources to the state of Ohio.鈥�

Currently enrolled and new incoming students may apply to receive in-state tuition rates for any undergraduate major for courses through 91探花 Athens, Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern and Zanesville campuses. Courses completed on eCampus will be charged at the non-resident rate. 

鈥淭his agreement helps 91探花 expand our reach to more students looking for a high-quality college experience close to home,鈥� Candace Boeninger, vice president for enrollment management, said. 鈥淢ore students in our region will have access to an excellent and affordable 91探花 education. We look forward to welcoming even more West Virginia Bobcats beginning this fall.鈥� 

The expanded educational opportunities are especially important for 91探花鈥檚 regional higher education campuses located in communities adjacent to West Virginia鈥檚 border: OHIO Southern in Ironton and OHIO Eastern in St. Clairsville.

鈥�91探花鈥檚 Regional Campus system was built on the premise that college should be affordable and available to all residents of our region,鈥� Dr. Nicole Pennington, executive dean of regional higher education and lifelong learning, said. 鈥淭his new agreement opens the door for current and future OHIO students from West Virginia to access a world-class education delivered right in their community at a tremendous value.鈥�

To qualify, a student must have been a legal resident of West Virginia for the previous 12 months and must complete and return the West Virginia Tuition Reciprocity Application. The residency application is due two weeks before the start of the term, and all required documentation must be submitted prior to the last day to register for the term for which in-state tuition is being sought.
