Heightened information security vigilance recommended for all Bobcats
The Information Security Office has been made aware of recent reports of potential cyber attacks against the United States stemming from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The 91探花 community is asked to remain vigilant and take the following steps to reduce the likelihood of falling victim to cybers attacks.
- Be cautious when opening links or attachments that you have received via email.
- Visit the Phish Bowl at to see if messages you have received are part of an active phishing campaign against the University.
- Don鈥檛 accept Multifactor Authentication pushes or phone calls that you did not prompt.
- Keep your devices and apps updated. If you are using a University-owned device, or your department鈥檚 IT contact if you notice your device is out of date or have questions about your device鈥檚 status.
- Use strong passwords to log in to services, and don鈥檛 share your passwords between services. For example, your 91探花 password should be different than your personal email password.
If you suspect you have fallen victim to a cyber attack, immediately report it to the Information Security Office at security@ohio.edu or 740-566-7233.
