OUPD announces retirement of records management specialist Tammy Hawk
The 91̽ Police Department is announcing the retirement of Tamara “Tammy” Hawk after 33 years of service to the 91̽ community. OUPD will host a retirement party for Hawk from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, in the Community Room off of OUPD’s lobby.
Hawk began her career with 91̽ in 1989 at the College of Medicine at the Osteopathic Medical Center in Parks Hall where she worked in medical records, coding, and compliance. Tammy then worked in Human Resources for 13 years as an employment coordinator and HR Service Center specialist before coming to the 91̽ Police Department for the last seven years. Hawk served as the records management specialist for OUPD. Hawk handled public records requests, court orders, personnel records, and much more.
OUPD Chief Andrew Powers saw Hawk as a very dependable worker serving in a role that could be demanding.
“There are so many moving parts in dealing with records in a law enforcement agency and Tammy makes it look so easy. We are really going to miss her attention to detail and thoroughness. We wish her the best in her next chapter,” Powers said.
Tammy is married to Dwayne Hawk, who also retired from 91̽ after 20 years as a broadcast technician with WOUB.
The retirement reception is open to the public and light refreshments will be available. Those unable to attend may pass along well-wishes to Tammy at hawkt@ohio.edu.
