OHIO to celebrate 2022 International Education Week Nov. 14-18

91̽»¨ will celebrate International Education Week (IEW) from Nov. 14-18, 2022. This seeks to champion the excellence of 91̽»¨â€™s global engagement through education, research, teaching and experiential learning.

This year’s programming will focus on students’ globally engaged research and creative activity endeavors. The week will feature numerous workshops and programs designed to highlight global student research and support instructors and students in their efforts to enhance skill and capacity in identifying and increasing global education component connections.  

IEW is an annual joint initiative by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.

Monday

7 p.m. at Grover Atrium: featuring an international performances open stage and Caribbean food

Tuesday

2 -3 p.m. at Alden first floor, International Collections: , exhibit is open to the public all week

Wednesday

9:30-10:30 a.m. via virtual connection: , panel event discussing Patton’s core values and impact on international students’ leadership and advocacy initiatives

11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Baker MCC 219: , internationally-focused three-minute thesis competition, up to $500 research support funds for winners

2- 3 p.m. via livestream: , re-airing of a panel featuring Latino/Latina/LatinE/Latin X alumni

Thursday

11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Alden Friends of the Library Room: , registration closed. Students will gain tools to strengthen and clarify proposals and identify and effectively apply for funding

1-4 p.m. at Baker 230: , guest expert: Dr. Maria M. Carreira, tap into the linguistic and cultural resources that create an inclusive and enriching learning experience for all

Friday

9 a.m.-noon at Baker 230: , language instructors are invited to learn how to redesign their existing curriculum to incorporate BRICKS requirements in the Bridge Category of diversity and practice

5-6:30 p.m. at 31 S. Court St. 006: , featuring four short films by international students. Snacks reception at 5 p.m., screening at 5:30 p.m.

5-8 p.m. at Baker 240/242: , cook-off. Learn about the origins of this delicious rice dish and help decide which county makes it best

Communication and Development Studies anniversary celebration

The Zanesville Campus is hosting numerous IEW Events throughout the week. Daily regional-focused events highlight games and activities from around the globe as well as feature numerous panel presentations. All events can be found on the .
