Letitia Lyneka Price named assistant director of the 91探花 Women鈥檚 Center
Letitia Lyneka Price, a doctoral candidate in OHIO鈥檚 Education Administration and Leadership program in the Patton College of Education, has joined the 91探花 Women鈥檚 Center as its assistant director.
Price has completed a graduate certificate in Women鈥檚, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at OHIO. Price earned their bachelor鈥檚 degree in Sport Science for Performance Coaching and a master鈥檚 degree in Sport and Exercise Science both from Sheffield Hallam University. They plan to defend their dissertation to the Patton College in the next few months.
During their time at OHIO, Price served as commissioner for women鈥檚 affairs on the Graduate Student Senate for over three years. Currently, Price instructs the Introduction to Diversity Studies course at OHIO. Price is also a diversity, equity, and inclusion educator for the United Soccer Coaches of USA. Price brought the National Girls and Women鈥檚 Sports Day to Athens in 2019.
鈥淚n addition to supporting the Women鈥檚 Center and mission in empowering marginalized genders across the University and surrounding communities, I whole heartedly believe in the power of transnational feminist organizing and would endeavor to be an invaluable person in assisting with the advocacy of increasing inclusiveness for students, expanding the awareness of the Women鈥檚 Center and educating on the intersectionality of identities and gender.鈥 Price said.
Price joins OHIO after an extensive national search. The search committee was chaired by Ann Brandon (Associate Director, Prevention and Education) and comprised of Te'Aylis Jackson (an OHIO student), Jen Bowie (Chief of Staff to the Vice President of University Advancement, Development and member of Margaret Boyd Scholars advisory board), Lisa Flowers-Clements (Assistant Director of Office of Multicultural Success and Retention), Michelle O鈥橫alley (Associate Professor of Instruction, Linguistics and member of Margaret Boyd Scholars advisory board), Jessica Altshuler (graduate student of the Women鈥檚 Center), Tony Tyler (Assistant Director Recruitment, Selection, Training, and Development Housing and Residence Life), and Patty Stokes, (Associate Professor of Instruction, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies).
Price officially began their duties for the Women鈥檚 Center on December 5, 2022.

About OHIO Women's Center
The Women鈥檚 Center provides students, faculty and staff with information, services and programs that address matters around gender equity. Throughout the fall semester, programming has centered around women鈥檚 reproductive health and access. In the spring programming will include Women鈥檚 History Month, the annual Take Back the Night event and educational workshops.
