OHIO launches 2024-25 Inclusive Excellence Workshop and Lecture Series

The Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost are announcing the launch of the 2024-25 Inclusive Excellence Workshop and Lecture Series for the 91探花 campus community.

The series, currently in its third year, is designed to support OHIO's commitment to building an intentional culture of inclusion, creating an enriching academic experience that expands civic engagement and cultural competency, and ensuring individual success and retention needs of an increasingly diverse community.

Interim Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Russell Morrow shared, "We are excited to have our faculty and staff share ideas, passion, experiences and research that help strengthen our community's commitment to Inclusive Excellence."

Six events are already scheduled for Fall 2024. Topics include improving critical pedagogy skills, creating equitable learning spaces, measuring the social impact of diversity and inclusion initiatives, leveraging artificial intelligence for diversity, equity and inclusion, exploring education as non-neutral, and exampling inclusive competences. More lectures and workshops will be announced throughout the year.

鈥淥ur robust programming this year actualizes the best of what inclusivity proports to represent. At its most basic level, every human being fundamentally feels better when they are seen, heard, and their best interests are optimally considered. Accordingly, the bar for institution-wide frameworks that appeal to the broad spectrum of humanity still can be of the highest quality. We are excited to meet and share this bar with this series,鈥 said Uzoma Miller, assistant professor of instruction for the Department of African American Studies and faculty fellow for the Inclusive Excellence Workshop and Lecture Series.

Please visit the Inclusive Excellence Workshop and Lecture Series website for descriptions, additional details, and updates. Participants may register for workshops and lectures online at /diversity/workshop-series.
