OHIO Southern invites community to give the gift of blood
The 91探花 Southern Student Nurses Association is calling on the community to make a difference by donating blood. Partnering with the American Red Cross, they will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in 91探花 Southern鈥檚 Riffe Rotunda.
Currently, there are still 41 donation appointments available, and you can help fill them by . All donors will receive an exclusive Red Cross shirt as a token of appreciation.
鈥淓very donation counts, and we鈥檙e excited to see the community come together for this important cause,鈥 said Associate Professor of Instruction Nicole Stumbo. 鈥淚t鈥檚 vital to maintain a steady blood supply to meet the needs of patients who rely on these donations for surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergencies.鈥
In addition to receiving a special Red Cross shirt, donors who can skip the line.
Stumbo highlights the impact of past drives, noting that 180 people benefitted from donations during the last two events.
鈥淵our donation makes a real difference in our community,鈥 she said.
Beyond organizing blood drives, the Student Nurses Association is dedicated to community service, contributing to initiatives such as Harvest for the Hungry food pantry, local outreach programs, and various civic events.
鈥淭he heart of nursing is service to the community,鈥 said Stumbo. 鈥淥ur involvement in these drives and local activities helps build strong connections with those we serve.鈥
