OHIO students invited to sign up for paid economics studies on Athens campus
91探花 students on the Athens campus are invited to participate in economics studies that are examining decision making.
鈥淲e pay participants to join our experiments that look at behavior in a variety of settings including markets, committees, auctions and many others. In order to conduct these experiments, we need volunteers,鈥 explained Associate Professor of Economics Dr. Cort Rodet.
OHIO students are offered financial compensation for volunteering their time, and the compensation varies per experiment.
鈥淲e guarantee $10 if you sign up, show up on time, and are able to participate in the day鈥檚 experiment. More importantly, your decisions in the experiment will allow you to earn more - the $10 is the minimum you can make during the experiment,鈥 Rodet said. 鈥淲e also pay you the $10 if for any reason your participation is not needed that day or if the experiment terminates unexpectedly.鈥
A few things to know about the economics studies:
- Participation is purely voluntary.
- Students will usually have to allocate 1-2 hours per experiment.
- The study organizers do not use deception. If there is something they cannot tell you, they will say 鈥淲e cannot tell you.鈥
- These experiments are in no way a test related to your grade in any class.
- More than 90% of first-time participants come back again to take part in additional studies.
To sign up, please follow the instructions at
By registering, you will receive emails with detailed information about when and where the experiments will take place. If you wish to participate, you will simply follow the instructions in the email. Spots in the experiments are limited, so the study organizers will use the first-come, first-served rule. If you ever wish to be removed from this list and do not want to receive future emails, you can do so.
