The Gates Foundation-Ross County Scholar’s Fund announces latest class of award recipients
The latest class of The Gates Foundation-Ross County Scholar’s Fund recipients has been announced with the awarding of scholarships to 16 continuing and incoming college students.
Larry Gates and his wife, Mary, established the fund to help Ross County students realize their college ambitions by relieving much of the financial stress associated with pursuing a college degree. This marks the 21st class of scholars, and approximately 290 scholarships have been awarded since its inception in 2004.
Mary and Larry Gates have lived throughout the world but never forgot their roots, returning to their hometown of Chillicothe upon retirement. This scholarship fund continues their commitment to residents of the region by making higher education, and the opportunities a college education offers, available to area individuals.
