TDX launch prompts several changes to OIT website
This article was originally published in the June 3, 2022 IT Weekly.
The TeamDynamix knowledge base and service catalog launched on Tuesday, May 31, and with that comes many exciting changes for the OIT website. These are the changes you may notice in the next few weeks:
New pages have been published
The TDX Knowledge Management team published more than 400 pages in the new TDX and , and those pages are searchable with a new search bar in the . The change freeze for ohio.edu/oit/services pages are now in effect until June 23 to ensure the accuracy of the new pages. Changes can resume in the new knowledge base and service catalog on June 23.
Some pages have changed locations
Pages originally under ohio.edu/oit/services that did not contain information about services or help content will not be migrated to the Technology Help Center. Those pages will instead be moved to alternate destinations across the OIT website, including:
IT Governance – Service level agreements will appear under the IT Governance page, alongside information about advisory communities and roadmaps.
Major IT Initiatives – Any information related to projects or other initiatives will be housed either on the Major Initiatives or Completed Projects pages. Recent additions include the Classroom Improvement Initiative, Survey Technologies Evaluation Project, and the Network Upgrade Project.
OIT News – Any previous news articles will move to /oit/news. Any new articles will be published on the OHIO News site, with OIT articles redisplayed on the OIT homepage.
Security – The SafeLinks URL Decoder has moved under Identifying Malicious E-mails page.
Links to OIT pages are being updated
Many offices across campus also link to OIT web pages. We are communicating with web managers across campus to ensure links on their pages are updated to the new locations in the Technology Help Center. After the hard launch on June 23, we will run a final check for broken links across the ohio.edu site to ensure users can find the information they need.
Announcement to campus
We plan to announce the launch of the new service catalog and knowledge base to campus in the June 9 OHIO News to allow time for campus users to prepare and update their personal bookmarks or favorites. TDX help tickets will also include a preview message beginning June 10. On June 23, ohio.edu/oit/services pages will be archived and help content will be exclusively available in the Technology Help Center Knowledge Base.
