EDUCATION: M.B.A., Marketing, University of Kentucky, 1986; B.S. Communications, Ithaca College, 1981. Primary teaching responsibilities include TV News Producing, Broadcast News Seminar and the Newscast Practicum class. She also teaches Radio News, TV News Reporting, Advanced Public Affairs Reporting and Media Ethics, and developed a course in TV News Election Coverage. Professor Rogus received 91探花鈥檚 highest teaching honor, being named a Presidential Teacher for 2006-2009.

EXPERIENCE: Prior to joining the Scripps School, Professor Rogus spent 20 years working in local television news. She worked in seven different medium and large markets as an award winning reporter, producer and executive producer. At the various stations she鈥檚 worked, her news teams have won several AP Best Newscast and Best News Operation awards, Murrow Awards for Spot News and Continuing Coverage, and a National Headliner award for Best Newscast

PUBLICATIONS/RESEARCH: Research interests include local television news branding, media consolidation and convergence, and in 2006 she published, 鈥淢anaging Television News: A Handbook for Ethical and Effective Producing鈥 with two co-authors. She is the 2001 co-recipient of the BEA New Faculty Research Grant, the 2003 IRTS Coltrin Professor and a 2005 RTNDF Educator in the Newsroom Fellow.

OTHER: Teaching interests also include professional training of international journalists. Professor Rogus has traveled to Kiev, Ukraine and Jakarta, Indonesia through 91探花, State Department grants to conduct workshops for television journalists in emerging democracies. She has also done workshops for Aljazeera in Doha, Qatar.
