Research

Growth hormone (GH) has diverse metabolic functions in addition to promoting growth. My research involves the relationship between GH and adipose tissue as well as GH and the intestine. The adipose portion of my research is focused on GH鈥檚 effects on the transcriptome of subcutaneous and visceral adipose depots across species and throughout the spectrum of GH action. The intestinal portion of my research centers around the effects of GH alterations on the gut microbiome and gut morphology.
