Inspirational Teaching Award Guidelines
This award recognizes a CHSP faculty member who provided an educational experience found to be inspiring and ultimately had a positive impact on student learning. The recipient will receive a monetary award of $1,000 directly via payroll.
Faculty members are nominated by students. Current undergraduate students with senior standing, current graduate students with at least 18 completed credit hours, and CHSP alumni may nominate a faculty member and share why the faculty member's teaching was inspirational and how it has influenced them over time.
Eligibility
All faculty in the College of Health Sciences and Professions are eligible to receive this award. A recipient may not receive the award in consecutive years.
Prompts for Students to Respond: Must be at least 500 to 750 words TOTAL (across both prompts below).
- Provide the name of the faculty member and a summary of your learning experiences with this faculty member (courses you’ve taken, interactions, etc.).
- In detail, describe how this faculty member has been inspirational to you during your educational experience at 91̽»¨. In doing so, provide specific examples.
Review Committee
The CHSP Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Committee will serve as the selection committee. If one of the committee members is a nominee, a substitute committee member will be obtained from that department/school.
Award Selection by the Teaching and Learning Committee
The CHSP Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Committee will review the award submissions, select the recipients, and advise the CHSP Dean of its selections. If the Teaching/Learning Committee does not reach a consensus, it will forward the names of potential recipients to the Dean, who will make the final decision.
