SPH students to serve as health ambassadors

Ten Social and Public Health students were selected to participate with Planned Parenthood and serve as "Health Ambassadors" in a chat/text program.
They received 30 hours of intensive training and will be the health educators answering questions via texting and instant messaging from adolescents and young adults throughout the U.S. They will provide medically accurate responses using behavioral theory and communication science to encourage positive health behaviors in the areas of birth control, emergency contraception, STD testing, pregnancy testing and more.
