Become a Diversity Leadership Ambassador
By becoming a Diversity Leadership Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Increase awareness, promote inclusiveness, and prompt genuine celebration of differences among the University communities
- Promote constructive dialogue across difference
- Encourage other students to take an active role in activities that increase cultural competence
- Develop leadership, communication and social skills
- Build relationships with 91̽»¨ administrators, faculty, staff and other students
- Gain significant leadership experience while enhancing your opportunities for campus involvement, employment marketability and career opportunities.
How To Become an Ambassador
Because Diversity Leadership Ambassadors are active on campus, interested students must meet eligibility requirements and apply. Application for the next academic year will open in January 2025
Eligibility
To become a Diversity Leadership Ambassador, you'll need:
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- To be a positive, productive team member 
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership skills 
- Strong interpersonal skills: highly motivated, energetic, dependable and knowledgeable 
Position Requirements
- Commit to at least one academic year of service (2-year commitment given preference) 
- Participate in admissions and other recruitment events as assigned 
- Attend all group meetings and scheduled trainings during the academic year 
- Participate in occasional evening or weekend activities 
- Present to classes, student organizations, staff meetings, and other requested groups on or off-campus 
- Value and be able to communicate with diverse individuals 
- Comfortable with being featured on the Division of Diversity and Inclusion social media pages and website
- Have a positive attitude, enthusiasm and passion for 91̽»¨â€¯
