CVS Caremark - PrudentRx Specialty Medication Program Outreach to Begin
As announced during the annual Benefit Open Enrollment period, effective July 1, 2021 the CVS Caremark PrudentRx specialty drug copay program will be implemented for faculty and staff* enrolled in an 91探花 health plan.
Faculty and staff utilizing specialty medications for themselves or dependents will soon receive a letter through U.S. mail from PrudentRx. The letter will contain specific information about the program and provide instructions to help faculty and staff enroll. Please be aware of the following Prudent Rx logo:
Faculty and staff who receive a letter should contact PrudentRx at 1-800-578-4403 to sign up for the program. If no contact is made PrudentRx will attempt to reach out by phone directly to the employee as well. Please email benefits@ohio.edu if you any questions.
As a reminder, faculty and staff utilizing specialty medications who enroll in the program will have a $0 copay for their specialty drug prescriptions. Individuals who do not enroll in the program will be subject to a 30% co-insurance for specialty medications. There is no cost associated with joining the program. Not all medications are specialty medications. A list of specialty medications is available on the HR website. If you are not using a specialty medication, no action is required.
If you have questions regarding the program please contact PrudentRx at 1-800-578-4403. For general prescription drug coverage questions contact CVS Caremark at 1-888-964-0089.
*The Prudent Rx program is not available for AFSCME 1699 Bargaining Unit members.
