Giving Opportunities
Gifts to 91̽»¨ Libraries makes a difference in the amount of scholarly resources and the quality of education available. Those contributions reinforce existing endowments, support the purchase of new collections, maintain current materials, and provide electronic resources that benefit present and future generations of the OHIO community.
The funds raised through your gifts allow us to invest in new resources and renovations to permit better access to our resources and accommodate teaching programs. You can choose how your gift will influence the Libraries through several funds:
- Alden Endowment
- Dean’s Fund
- Digital Initiatives
- Collections
- Facilities
- More Endowments

Library Endowments
Funds from our endowments support efforts to maintain collections that are made up of international, national and local materials. They also promote the preservation of documents, books and artifacts that are within our collections. Other endowments benefit librarians’ teaching programs and aid students with learning disabilities through adaptive technology.

In-Kind
The University Libraries selectively accepts donations of books and other library materials for the circulating collections. Prior to donating, please contact Seth Sisler, head of Acquisitions & Collections Services for more information.
If you are interested in donating books, manuscripts, or other rare materials to the Mahn Center for Archives and Special Collections, please contact Miriam Nelson to discuss your donation.
Be a Friend
The Friends of the Libraries, formed in 1979, helps fill the gap between external funding and the real cost of providing high-quality collections and services to the University community and beyond. The Friends also give an annual gift to the Libraries’ student workers.
