COIL environments integrate global learning into the curricula of students who may be place or time-bound. COIL courses can be launched in all disciplines and facilitate interdisciplinary connections that allow students to make unique insights and deepen the global engagement of students as they link university classes in different countries. OHIO鈥檚 Regional Campuses launched a COIL initiative in the 2015-2016 academic year, and the faculty members have been very active in offering COIL courses with other COIL fellows at OHIO. The success of COIL on the Regional Campuses had led to an interest in expanding the program across the University.

The webinar will feature presentations from faculty members involved with successful COIL programs at the State University of New York (SUNY) system. will discuss how students can become engaged in 鈥渂ig鈥 problem solving with their international peers. The webinar will also explain how COIL initiatives can be implemented in different academic settings.

The Friday, Feb. 9 event will also feature discussions on expanding the program at OHIO and will explore opportunities for faculty members to get involved.
