Spotlight on Learning Conference announces 2021 dates, call for proposals

91̽’s Spotlight on Learning Conference will be held April 5 - 9 and will focus on the theme of “How COVID Has Changed Your Teaching.”

The conference is hosted by OHIO’s Center for Teaching and Learning, in conjunction with the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Committee.

Through asynchronous videos and virtual synchronous forums, participants and presenters will have the opportunity to share their stories about teaching successes and challenges, forecast what they believe may forever be changed in their pedagogy, and come together as a stronger and more resilient OHIO community to strengthen the student experience.  Each day will include panel discussions on one of the following themes:

  • Best Practices
  • Lessons Learned
  • Student Success
  • Forward Thinking

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: We invite your stories focused around a challenge or opportunity related to one or more of these topics.

Presenters are asked to submit a three- to five-sentence mini-abstract aligned to one or more of the following categories, as they pertain to teaching in the time of COVID:

Best Practices: Innovations in the classroom, successful stories, student engagement.

Lessons Learned: What worked? What didn't? What positive lessons will you take forward?

Student Success: Specific student experiences that influenced the way you teach and/or how have you engaged with students in a way you haven't before to ensure student success?

Forward Thinking: What do you intend to retain, change and/or eliminate in your teaching for future semesters?

Presenters are limited to no more than three entries. Following notification of acceptance, presenters will be asked to prepare and submit a video presentation that can be viewed prior to the forum. Videos should be no more than 15 minutes.

The deadline for submissions is Feb. 22. .

A detailed calendar of conference events and general registration details will be sent in March.
