The Center for Teaching and Learning offers August workshops
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) within the Office of Instructional Innovation (OII) is hosting the following workshops in August to assist faculty, instructors and graduate teaching assistants with fall semester planning and teaching. All August workshops will be held from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. EST.
Resources for Syllabus Development and Student Success
Dr. Audra Anjum, instructional designer in the Office of Instructional Innovation, will present this session to facilitate instructor awareness of required and recommended syllabus components as well as resources for student success.

Inclusive Pedagogy Overview
Dr. M. Geneva Murray, director of the Women’s Center within the Division of Diversity and Inclusion, will present this session to introduce instructors to inclusive pedagogy and techniques to begin incorporating inclusive pedagogy into their courses. (Note: A four-part Inclusive Pedagogy workshop series is also planned for fall semester; details will be announced soon.)

An Introduction to Experiential Learning
Dr. Lindsey Rudibaugh, executive director of experiential learning within the provost’s office, will present this session to introduce instructors to experiential learning and techniques to begin incorporating experiential learning into their courses.

Scaffolding Learning, Providing Low-Stakes Assessments, and Supplementing Instruction
Dr. Kyle Rosenberger and Paa Nyarko-Krampah, instructional designers in the Office of Instructional Innovation, and Hanna Schmillen, head of subject liaison services and subject librarian for Health Sciences within University Libraries, will present this session to provide options for instructors to scaffold learning, provide low-stakes assessments, and offer supplemental instruction and resources for students who may need additional support.
