Numerous graduate programs across OHIO ranked among best in nation by U.S. News & World Report
91̽’s graduate programs continued to receive national recognition within the latest rankings that were released on April 25 by U.S. News & World Report.
A total of 12 graduate programs, spanning numerous academic colleges, were recognized in the U.S. News’ 2023-2024 rankings list. It is important to note that U.S. News & World Report does not rank all graduate programs each year.
Highlights from this year’s rankings included OHIO’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, which ranked 57th overall in the list of “top public affairs” graduate schools for 2023-2024, and the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, which moved up 10 spots in the overall “top engineering schools” rankings and had six graduate programs ranked among the best in the nation.
Additionally, OHIO’s Physician Assistant Practice received its inaugural listing in U.S. News’ “Best Graduate Schools” rankings.

OHIO’s latest graduate program rankings for 2023-24 included:
- Business Administration (Part-Time): 144th
- Chemical Engineering: 109th
- Chemistry: 119th
- Civil Engineering: 127th
- Computer Science: 152nd
- Electrical Engineering: 137th
- Industrial Engineering: 75th
- Mathematics: 144th in country
- Mechanical Engineering: 151st
- Physician Assistant Practice: 142nd
- Physics: 95th
- Rehabilitation Counseling: 36th

U.S. News & World Report’s rankings methodology for compiling the best grad schools in the US for business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing programs consisted of statistical surveys from 2,214 programs and reputation surveys sent to approximately 6,300 academics and 12,690 professionals that were conducted in fall 2022 and early 2023. Programs in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and health were based solely on ratings from academic experts.
According to U.S. News, both the 2023-2024 Best Medical Schools and 2023-2024 Best Law Schools rankings will be released at a later date.
