To join the Bobcat family, admitted students have important next steps to take. Just read all of the information about each of the steps to prepare for a successful start at OHIO. Please check out our in-person and virtual campus visit options to talk with advisors, faculty and students. You can also ask questions online, receive a phone call or text or participate in an online event.

Activate Your OHIO ID
After Applying
To get started, it is essential that you activate your OHIO ID. You need your OHIO ID to access your OHIO email. Your birth date and your personal identification (PID) number (provided in your application acknowledgment letter) are all you need to officially activate your online OHIO access, including email.
Make sure you check your OHIO email regularly. All official correspondence will be sent to your 91探花 email account. Also make sure to check items in your MyOHIO Student Center To Do List for any necessary steps to complete your registration.
Complete Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review Form
Immediately Upon Request
This quick, simple form is required for all admitted students as part of our commitment to providing the safest possible learning environment at 91探花. The Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review form is available in your and should be completed immediately. Disclosing a formal disciplinary action, charge or conviction does not automatically disqualify you from enrollment, but your disclosures will be reviewed. Based on your answers, we may contact you to request further information. The form must be completed, reviewed and cleared for enrollment before you can finalize your class registration.

Fund Your Education
Beginning in December
91探花 is committed to an affordable college education. We are dedicated to helping our students find the financial support they need to discover their promise at OHIO. During the 2021-2022 academic year, our first-year students earned more than $21 million in scholarships, and 99 percent received financial aid.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) serves as your application for all types of financial assistance at 91探花. The FAFSA results must be received by 91探花 no later than February 15, 2025, for first-priority consideration for all federal, state and institutional financial aid. Your application for admission serves as your merit-based scholarship application. For scholarship consideration, freshmen should submit a complete admission application by December 1. OHIO may continue to award using updated credentials received after February 15, 2025, on an individual basis.
In the MyOHIO Student Center, you can view account details, account balance and payment options. You can also designate authorized users to enable other individuals to view your account details and make payments.
Access Veteran Support Services and Benefits
Beginning January 1
As you prepare for the start of your educational journey, you should apply for your Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits as soon as possible. The Brigadier General James M. Abraham and Colonel Arlene F. Greenfield Veterans and Military Student Services Center serves as the central point of contact for OHIO veterans and their dependents, including securing your VA education benefits. If you haven鈥檛 done so already, please complete these steps:
- Contact the Veterans and Military Student Services Center at 740.566.VETS (8387) or veteranscenter@ohio.edu to learn how they can support your student success and, if you are using your VA education benefits, find out what documents you need to submit.
- Complete the . The VA will issue a Certificate of Eligibility to qualified individuals. Please submit a copy of this certificate to veteranscenter@ohio.edu or:

Athens, OH 45701 - Complete the 91探花 File Card to inform us when you wish to use your VA education benefits. Sign in with your OHIO email and password and choose the appropriate academic year, semesters and VA education benefits you wish to use. This will need to be completed each academic year you are using VA education benefits.
Complete Pre-Advising Steps
Beginning in April
You will receive an email from your regional campus inviting you to review pre-advising information and complete mandatory online training. Students are required to complete both the Sexual Assault Prevention and Anti-Hazing training through the online training links provided.
You will receive a follow-up email to schedule an appointment after May 1 for class advising and registration.
Transfer Your Credits
Before Registration
Generally, college-level courses completed with a D- or better from a regionally accredited institution as part of College Credit Plus or dual enrollment programs through a high school are transferable to OHIO. Test credit (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, College Level Examination Program) is also generally accepted, provided you earn the necessary score. To transfer your credit, you must have an official college transcript or score report sent from the college or testing agency directly to Undergraduate 91探花s.
Register for Classes
Beginning May 1
You will receive an email to schedule an appointment after May 1 for a one-on-one advising session to complete your schedule. Your enrollment will not be final until your Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review form is submitted, reviewed and cleared.
