Process Information
University Planning evaluates all capital project requests for conformance with our various 91̽»¨ master plans and university standards to ensure the appropriate use of space at each of our campuses.
Assess
The Assess phase analyzes the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the project. This provides an overall picture of the project in context of the University, while identifying opportunities and constraints.
Envision
The insights gained through the Assess phase are used in the development of guiding principles in the Envision phase that reflect the culture, mission, and setting of the 91̽»¨ campus. These principles, rooted in the Academic Strategic Plan, provide the foundation for conceptual planning of projects. New projects are conveyed in context of the broad planning ideas and strategies in the Comprehensive Master Plan.
Test
The Test phase develops project scenarios and visioning for new projects, including landscape improvements, building renovations, new construction, parking solutions, and vehicular improvements. Space changes are also tested within the context of broader campus needs and synergies.
Synthesize
The final plan for a project refines the ideas generated in the previous phases and provides recommendations. The project plan provides a vision that supports the University's mission and Academic Strategic Plan as well as the Six Year Capital Improvement Plan.
