Global Consulting Program Scholarship
The College of Business offers a need-based scholarship for students participating in the Global Consulting Program. Awards are based on a score called Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which is generated by the data provided in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order to be eligible for a scholarship, students must have a current FAFSA on file with the 91̽»¨ Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
The GCP scholarship application is now part of the standard application process. In order to be considered for an award, students must opt in to consideration by clicking the appropriate box on the GCP application. More information about applying for the GCP
Education Abroad Scholarships
The Office of Global Opportunities offers a need-based, merit-based, and diversity scholarship. They also provide links to additional scholarship opportunities. Visit their website for more information regarding these additional scholarship opportunities. Be aware that the deadline for Summer GCP programs will be in early February. Please visit the Office of Global Opportunities web page for the most up to date deadlines.
Financial Aid
It is very likely that you will be able to use student loans toward tuition, the program fee, and other expenses related to travel. However, this depends on your individual circumstances. You will need to speak to an adviser in the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to learn what portion of your aid will travel with you.
Note that the Financial Aid fiscal period begins July 1 each year – this means that you will need to file a current-year form to cover Summer (i.e., a new FAFSA from the one that covered the previous Fall and Spring). This also means that your aid may not apply until after July 1, before which time it will be listed as pending. If you have questions about your aid, please contact the Financial Aid office at 740-593-4141.
Using Other Scholarships and Grants
Students may be able to use their existing academic scholarships for the GCP, but this is not necessarily the case. Some scholarships do not cover summers. Some require that you take a minimum number of credit hours, in which case you would need to supplement your GCP credit hours with additional coursework in the summer. Please speak with your scholarship representative or the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships for more details about your specific situation.
