Graduate Scholarships and Award Recipients
This lists includes department graduate scholarships and their winners, as well as graduate student winners of college and university awards.
These scholarships and awards are for exceptional performance within the mathematics program, and so are not available to incoming students.
Departmental Scholarships
Eligible graduate students will automatically be considered for these scholarships and so need not apply for them.
Ying-Chien Chang Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship is given to the department by Ying-Chien Chang, a 1973 M.S. graduate. This annual award is based on academic achievement. To be considered, a student must have at least a 3.8 GPA in mathematics.

Carl H. Denbow Fund for Graduate Study in Mathematics
Dr. Carl Denbow came to 91探花 in 1936 and was a member of the Mathematics faculty until 1981. During his tenure, he served as Chair of the Mathematics Department twice (1953-55 and 1965-67). He was instrumental in developing the department's Ph.D. program, which he helped launch in 1969. The Carl H. Denbow Fund for Graduate Study in Mathematics provides financial support for graduate students. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance (minimum 3.4 GPA on a scale of 4.0) and financial need. Preference will also be given to U.S. citizens.
