Careers with a Modern Languages Degree

When recent graduates can employ their marketable skills in the pursuit of an individual passion, they greatly enhance their chances for success, satisfaction and lifelong rewards.

Many of our students apply their skills in careers in journalism, political science, education, sociology, international studies, business, government, or social services.
Many others enter master’s or doctoral programs and go on to academic universities.
Others use their language skills to complement their studies in law or medical school.
Some start their career path by volunteering in the region or abroad with organizations such as Rural Action or the Peace Corps.
Many expand and refine their language abilities while exploring new career opportunities by teaching English abroad in Austria, France, Germany, Latin America, and Spain.
