Physical Therapy Scholarships

Athens County Education Award

  • Selection/Eligibility: Second and third year physical therapy graduate student; full-time (enrolled in 12 graduate credits). Athens campus student with first preference given to graduates of Athens High School, second preference to graduates of high schools in Athens County and its contiguous counties and third preference to all other PT majors.
  • Financial Need: Not considered. FAFSA not required.
  • GPA: 3.0 required.

Joy Boyd Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student; full-time (enrolled in 12 graduate credits). Athens campus student with a demonstrated sense of professionalism and dedication to the field of physical therapy, strength of character and high ideals, a compassion for others and a desire to give one's best.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must meet federal guidelines for need. FAFSA required.
  • GPA: 3.0 accumulative GPA required.

Po Hickenbottom Memorial Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student. Preference is given to students with a strong interest in pediatrics physical therapy and who demonstrate a passion and a drive for early intervention. Considered applicants should exemplify service to the community and the pediatric physical therapy profession. This scholarship is awarded in memory of Po Hickenbottom, a former faculty member.
  • Financial Need: Financial consideration given but students need not meet federal guidelines for need. FAFSA not required.
  • GPA: No minimum GPA required.

Carole J. Marchal Scholarship Fund

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student. Preference given to residents of Greenville, Ohio, second preference to residents of Darke County, third preference to Ohio residents and last preference to all other PT majors. Preference is also given to students who express a desire to practice in pediatrics.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must meet federal guidelines for need. FAFSA required.
  • GPA: No minimum GPA required.

Cynthia C. Norkin Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student. Consideration is given to a student who has shown evidence of dedication to PT program based upon service, leadership and involvement in the community and in professional organizations. Named for founding director of the former School of Physical Therapy at 91探花.
  • Financial Need: Considered, but students need not meet federal guidelines for need. FAFSA not required.
  • GPA: GPA of 3.5 required.
  • Selection: Department of Physical Therapy Scholarship Committee.

Southpaw Enterprises Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student. Preference given to students with an interest in pediatric physical therapy and/or sensory integration and a strong interest in community service and advancement in the field.
  • Financial Need: Financial consideration given but students need not meet federal guidelines for need. FAFSA not required.
  • GPA: 3.4 accumulative GPA.

Trotta, Haste and Schulman Physical Therapy Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Physical therapy graduate student.
  • Financial Need required as determined by Office of Financial Aid. FAFSA required.

Leigh Ann Frick Leadership Scholarship

  • Selection/Eligibility: Be enrolled as a full-time Physical therapy graduate student.
  • Financial Need required as determined by Office of Financial Aid. FAFSA required.
  • Academic Merit as demonstrated by minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills as identified by the university and department of PT.
