Department of Social Work

The Social Work program at 91探花 offers a wide variety of degree programs, including an on-campus bachelor鈥檚 degree in social work and on-campus and 100% online versions of its master of social work degree. Each degree uniquely prepares students to serve as social workers in the rural community and to obtain state licensure as a social worker.

The bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) provides a generalist focus while the master's of social work (MSW) degree has a clinical focus and prepares social workers to practice in rural areas. Both programs provide extensive field experience enabling students to put into practice what they learn in the classroom. Faculty providing instruction in the programs are all accomplished social workers and well connected in the community.

    We offer two undergraduate degrees in social work. These degrees are a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).

    Human Services Technology Major (A.A.S.)

    B.S.W. and B.A. in Social Work

  • Master of Social Work

    We prepare students to serve as clinical social workers with the knowledge and skills at the master鈥檚 level to improve well-being for individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. 

    Both the on-campus and online programs are offered as a foundational program for career changers plus an accelerated Advanced Standing option open to recent graduates of CSWE-accredited undergraduate social work programs.

Southern Ohio Behavioral Health Initiative

The Southern Ohio Behavioral Health Initiative (SOBHI) is a comprehensive student enhancement program aimed at promoting the recruitment, retention, and graduation of undergraduate and graduate social work students, as well as high school students. 

It includes tailored curricula, financial support, and experiential learning opportunities in behavioral health settings. This initiative aims to enhance the behavioral health workforce pipeline across 20 counties in the region.
