Undergraduate Students
ONCA supports students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or recent alumni holding a bachelor鈥檚 degree (with no additional degrees beyond) in applying for the following awards:
Awards for summer research, internships, and study abroad:
Amgen Scholars Program
Offers summer biotechnology research opportunities at thirteen institutions in the United States and four institutions across Asia.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
Provides funding for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving a federal Pell Grant to study abroad.

Critical Language Scholarship
Provides full funding for students to experience cultural immersion and foreign language programs overseas.
DAAD RISE - Research Internships in Science and Engineering
Summertime internships with German doctoral students at universities and research institutions. No German language skills are required.
Fulbright UK Summer Institutes
Allows freshmen and sophomores the opportunity to experience one of a wide range of three-to-four-week programs at institutions of higher learning in the UK.
Humanity in Action Fellowship
Brings together international groups of students for a month-long summer program on human rights and democracy in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, or Warsaw.
Awards for longer-term study abroad:
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
Provides funding for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving a federal Pell Grant to study abroad.
David L. Boren Scholarship for International Study
Provides undergraduate students with the resources they need to acquire skills and experiences in areas of the world critical to U.S. security, in exchange for a commitment to work in the federal government.
Awards for undergraduate tuition, research, and creative activity:
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
Awards scholarships for undergraduate tuition to sophomores and juniors pursuing research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.
BMI Student Composer Award
Awards for vocal, instrumental, and/or electronic classical music compositions made by students who are citizens of a country in the Western Hemisphere.
Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics
An essay competition for sophomores and juniors writing about a particular ethical issue they have encountered.
Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Awards sophomores studying oceanic and atmospheric sciences with academic assistance for up to two years and a 10-week internship under NOAA faculty.
La Unidad Latina
Awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students residing in the United States who are dedicated to the civic empowerment of Latino communities.
Udall Undergraduate Scholarship
Provides scholarships to sophomores and juniors interested in a career related to the environment, Native American health care, or a career in tribal public policy.
Awards for one-year experiences after graduation:
Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellows Program
Provides graduating seniors with research assistantships with the Endowment鈥檚 senior associates.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
Provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships.
Awards for graduate school tuition, research, and creative activity:
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
A highly selective and prestigious award open to students who are a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom and are interesting in applying to pursue graduate or doctoral education at Cambridge.
Harry S. Truman Scholarship
Offers scholarships to juniors wishing to attend graduate school in preparation for public service careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, or education.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program
Provides full funding for graduate study at Stanford University.
Marshall Scholarship
Finances young Americans of high ability to study for a graduate degree in the United Kingdom.
Mitchell Scholarship
Provides funding for one year of post-graduate study in Ireland or Northern Ireland to young leaders from the United States.
Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship
Funds graduate school in the U.S. for "new Americans" (green card holders or naturalized citizens if born abroad; a child of naturalized citizens if born in the United States).
Rhodes Scholarship
Provides exceptional students with funding for a graduate degree or degrees at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
