M.S./Ph.D. Programs
Biological Sciences
M.S. and PH.D. Biological Sciences
The Department of Biological Sciences offers a graduate program that includes faculty from both Biological Sciences and the medical school鈥檚 Department of Biomedical Sciences. Faculty and graduate students conduct research on a wide array of biological topics spanning from molecules to ecosystems, and from basic to applied research. Faculty and students develop collaborative networks both within and outside the department as they conduct their research. Within 91探花, the Ohio Center for Ecology and Evolutionary Studies, the Interdisciplinary Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program bring together researchers with common research interests from across diverse departments. Competitive financial support is available via teaching and research assistantships.

Molecular and Cellular Biology
PH.D. Molecular and Cellular Biology / Biology
PH.D. Molecular and Cellular Biology / Chemistry
PH.D. Molecular and Cellular Biology / Environmental and Plant Biology
The molecular and cell biology program brings together multiple departments, including Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Environmental and Plant Biology, to better understand how cells and molecules
form, change and contribute to biology. Ph.D. and M.S. degrees cover a wide range of topics and allow students to work closely with faculty mentors as they work through the curriculum. M.S. degrees with related concentrations are available in the Departments of Biological Sciences and Environmental and Plant Biology. Competitive financial support is available via teaching and research assistantships.

Translational Biomedical Sciences
Ph.D. Translational Biomedical Sciences
This doctoral program trains students to effectively translate basic research into enhanced health care outcomes for the population in fields such as biomedical research, bioengineering, drug development, informatics, communications, health policy and planning. As a transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary program, the Ph.D. in TBS prepares individuals to lead the implementation of patient-centered health care. Existing research and educational strengths at 91探花, such as the Diabetes Institute, the Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute, and the Edison Biotechnology Institute, accommodate the innovative, cross-disciplinary nature of TBS. This program offers competitive financial support in the form of graduate assistantships, which include a stipend and tuition waiver.
