Meet with an Advocate

 

Please note that Survivor Advocacy Program staff ARE available to meet virtually via Microsoft Teams or in-person in our office in Lindley Hall on the 91̽, Athens campus.

How to Meet with an Advocate

  1. Schedule online using our . (preferred method)                                                              You will have the option to select “Virtual New Client Appointment”, “In-Person New Client Appointment", “Virtual Returning Client Appointment”, or "In-Person Returning Client Appointment”. For returning clients, you may select your already assigned advocate. If you select a virtual appointment, you will immediately receive a Microsoft Teams link. If you select an in person appointment, please arrive at the Survivor Advocacy Program office suite in Lindley Hall 041 at your appointment time. Please note, new clients are assigned to an advocate based on calendar availability. If you have a conflict of interest and/or would like to request a specific advocate, you may reach out to that advocate directly via email.   2. To speak with a confidential advocate regarding time-sensitive needs, contact our hotline*: 740-597-SAFE (7233). 

  3. Drop-in to our office in the Survivor Advocacy Program office suite located in Lindley Hall 041 Monday-Friday 9am- 5pm. If you arrive and our doors are shut, call our hotline 740-597-SAFE (7233) to let us know you are there. We may be in another meeting.

*Please note that on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on weekends, 740-597-SAFE (7233) is our acting hotline for time-sensitive but non-emergency requests. If you have a time-sensitive request or need to speak to an advocate urgently, call the hotline and leave a message that includes your name, your request, and a safe number we can use to call you back. An advocate will return your call as soon as possible. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are contacting the Survivor Advocacy Program for general questions and are not in need of an immediate advocate, please call Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or email survivor.advocacy@ohio.edu. To schedule an appointment for a later date, use our . Additionally, the after-hours hotline is not in operation during Winter break and Summer break, but we are available during typical office hours.
