The Voinovich School partners with local government, state agencies and nonprofits to build leadership and organizational capacity, supporting communities to solve their most pressing issues.

We work with leaders at all stages — from newly elected officials to executive directors with decades of experience.

Mayors' Partnership for Progress 


Since 1996, the Voinovich School has provided staffing, research and support for the Mayors’ Partnership for Progress, a nonprofit that brings together elected officials from 25 Appalachian counties to advocate for their citizens, share information, and tackle common issues faced by communities throughout the region.

The Voinovich Academy builds public service leadership capacity by offering professional and executive education programs to support current and future leaders serving public and nonprofit organizations throughout Ohio.

Applied Learning

As part of our educational mission, the Voinovich School engages students and Voinovich Undergraduate Research Scholars to work closely with faculty and staff on these projects. 

Experiences vary, but opportunities include conducting and analyzing surveys, focus groups, and interviews; contributing to curriculum development and implementation; assisting with community meeting facilitation; and developing public reports, presentations and infographics.
