What is the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)?
The FLSA establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and youth employment standards affecting all United States employees in the private sector and in Federal, State, and local governments, including Higher Education. Employees are either 鈥渆xempt from overtime鈥 or 鈥渘on-exempt from overtime鈥 pay based on FLSA regulations. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) administers the FLSA regulations.
