In spring of 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) released its rule that would have raised the salary threshold for overtime exemption for executive, administrative and professional employees. The USDOL had announced a phased approach to implementation, with the salary threshold scheduled to increase to $58,656 per year ($1,128 per week) on January 1, 2025 for non-instructional employees.
However, a Texas court has invalidated the rule update, which prevents the January 1 changes from moving forward at this time. 91探花鈥檚 phase one implementation will remain in effect. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.
